Hi there! I'm Ruhi, an aspiring science and health reporter.

I've got a BSc in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology with a minor in Journalism and Media Studies. I'm on the lookout for full-time opportunities that allow me to combine my two loves, science and writing.

My works have been published in Reuters and Asia Sentinel, and picked up by Business Insider, Financial Post, and Physician's Weekly, among others.

In my free time, ask me about birds or poetry.

Genetically Modified Foods - Should It Be On My Plate?

"Genetic engineering is an excellent technology for the field of agriculture. However, it is heading towards the wrong direction. This direction will not solve problems in the long run; rather it will create worse problems." Here's an essay I wrote in 2013 for a contest held by TheAlternative, a now-defunct e-magazine, on the topic of genetically modified foods. I have changed my opinions on some of the points made here based on new information (naturally, since I was in 10th grade when I wrote this essay). However, I'm publishing it for the sake of older samples in my portfolio.
